Sophie is an abstract artist based in Noosa, Queensland

Her practice is founded in a love of colour. She layers the canvas with distinctive markings and loose brushstrokes, adding and subtracting until the right harmony is achieved.

Sophie’s abstract paintings are influenced by the natural beauty of her bushland, seaside location. They explore concepts around the precious nature of time, domestic life and the quest to live well.

A creative career

Sophie has always drawn, painted and enjoyed creative work life. As a Copywriter for the past 20 years her career highlights include writing global TV ads for Guinness in Dublin and recording with Geoffrey Rush for Unicef.

Sophie also studied textile design and created “Bed Toppings” - sheets that turn beds into giant objects. Her hand illustrated collection were stocked in Top 3 By Design and Third Drawer Down. They featured a giant chocolate bar, sardine tin, flower bed or pencil case.
